Vintage Modern Trash the Dress | Kelly

It’s been a while since my last blog entry, and a lot has happened!

I had a big birthday, had a quick trip to the East Cost, met some really fun couples who I’m excited to work with both this year and next, and I was videotaped for the first time for Everything Wedding (which was really nerve-wracking LOL). The video is still a work in progress and I am excited to see it’s completion and to share it with you! The concept for the video is to introduce new couples to me, and give them a glimpse into what it’s like working with me, and what I’m like (LOL). I decided to do something a little different, and have some footage of me shooting and styling at a Trash the Dress/Bridal Shoot. John from Rolling Shutter was the man behind the video camera, and he joined us for Kelly’s Vintage inspired Winter Trash the Dress shoot. We decided to visit a very suiting location for this particular shoot, and a favourite of mine J.R. Park Homestead. It was pretty much one of the coldest days of the year, but Kelly was a real trooper and worked through the cold! I absolutely love her shawl which we found on etsy.com, hand made all the way from Ireland! I know I’ve said this before but little details can add so much to your images, even your wedding day images. It definitely added a lot to the styling of the photos, and was a gorgeous accessory! Thanks once again Kelly for an awesome shoot! As you can see you can get a lot of creative use out of your wedding dress, without having to really trash your dress.

Downtown Windsor Engagement | Jenn + Kamil

I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done a REAL blogpost. Well I’m back!! So much has been going on lately, and I’m really excited to share it with you all over the next few weeks. Last year I met Jenn & Kamil through a past bride Lisa who had referred me, thanks again Lisa!! These two are soooo great! They’re so sweet around each other. They seem very connected, and it’s no nice to witness such a beautiful pairing. We decided to do their Engagement Session in the Winter, but getting a snowy setting was hit or miss in this area, so eventually we decided we’d opt for an indoor location. When I asked Jenn for a few location ideas where perhaps she and Kamil spend a lot of time, she gave me a few options to work with. The one thing that she did say to me that was so sweet was that it didn’t really matter where they go to together so much, because they really “just love being around each other” (awwwww!). We decided to start out downtown Windsor and hit up The Coffee Exchange, since Jenn & Kamil like to go for coffee together. Their new location is awesome, I have to admit that I haven’t actually been downtown in a while, at least not on a socializing basis, so I’m sure it’s been there for awhile, but it was all new to me. We then headed over to an awesome little pub called The Pour House, which is decorated fantastically on the inside. It’s a mix of modern decor with that classic pub feeling, and made for a great location for photographs. Plus Jenn & Kamil were able to enjoy a cocktail to calm any nerves they might have about being photographed. The staff at The Pour House were so accommodating, a big thanks goes out to them!! Here a are a few favourites from their Engagement Session. Jenn & Kamil thank you for being so open to getting a little creative, looking forward to the BIG DAY at the end of May!

Newest venture…..teaser

So I had the best day ever yesterday!!! I spent the day with Miss J. and Miss K. photographing these two gorgeous gals as apart of my latest photography venture. I am still giddy with how much fun we had, and how ‘girly’ of a day it was, with the girls playing dress-up and looking so fabulous. I have a TON of images to edit, but in the meantime I thought I’d just share this little teaser group photo that we did quickly at the end of our day long shoot.

The big unveiling is yet to come……

Upcoming Windsor Wedding Shows!

It’s almost that time of year again! January is almost here which means it’s time for a new wonderful season of weddings, and a new season of Wedding Shows. This year I will once again be taking part in both of the large local wedding shows. For those of you that might not remember last year’s booth here’s a quick pic taken from my iphone last year.

This year’s booth will have the same kind of living space feel, with a few updates and tweaks. I have some great new albums, a new logo to unveil, and of course some new work to share with you! For those of you getting married in 2010, I do still have a few open dates, to check out my calendar and see what’s available click here and check your date under ‘calendar’. The remaining 2010 dates will likely go very fast at the wedding shows, if not shortly afterwards, so please contact me ASAP. For those couples getting married in 2011, many of the key 2011 dates will also book up fairly quickly during the wedding shows, so please contact me as soon as you can! I look forward to seeing some familiar faces at the shows, and also meeting the new crop of Brides & Grooms. You will be able to book your wedding date with me at the shows, and also book consultation dates at the shows. I can promise you that I will be at both shows, both days as I do not have a wedding booked for either weekend as I did last year. Joining me will be my awesome assistant Maciejka, and my bravest past bride, and BLOG cover girl Mrs. Kelly Chauvin. Please be sure to stop by my booth and say hello! I will be showcasing in the main halls of both shows, so look for the ‘red velvet’ ! (LOL)
