Jenn & Kamil’s Windsor Engagement Session!

I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done a REAL blogpost. Well I’m back!! So much has been going on lately, and I’m really excited to share it with you all over the next few weeks. Last year I met Jenn & Kamil through a past bride Lisa who had referred me, thanks again Lisa!! These two are soooo great! They’re so sweet around each other. They seem very connected, and it’s no nice to witness such a beautiful pairing. We decided to do their Engagement Session in the Winter, but getting a snowy setting was hit or miss in this area, so eventually we decided we’d opt for an indoor location. When I asked Jenn for a few location ideas where perhaps she and Kamil spend a lot of time, she gave me a few options to work with. The one thing that she did say to me that was so sweet was that it didn’t really matter where they go to together so much, because they really “just love being around each other” (awwwww!). We decided to start out downtown Windsor and hit up The Coffee Exchange, since Jenn & Kamil like to go for coffee together. Their new location is awesome, I have to admit that I haven’t actually been downtown in a while, at least not on a socializing basis, so I’m sure it’s been there for awhile, but it was all new to me. We then headed over to an awesome little pub called The Pour House, which is decorated fantastically on the inside. It’s a mix of modern decor with that classic pub feeling, and made for a great location for photographs. Plus Jenn & Kamil were able to enjoy a cocktail to calm any nerves they might have about being photographed. The staff at The Pour House were so accommodating, a big thanks goes out to them!! Here a are a few favourites from their Engagement Session. Jenn & Kamil thank you for being so open to getting a little creative, looking forward to the BIG DAY at the end of May!

MELISSA & JIM’S ENGAGEMENT SESSION!

A couple of weeks ago I met up with Melissa & Jim at Pelee Island Winery for their Engagement Session, my last Engagement Session this year actually. I think it was literally the coldest day of the year so far! We started out in the barrel room, and worked our way outside, hoping to brave the cold temperatures with some wine in our bellies. It worked for a little while, but man it was freeeeeezing. The 3 of us all had tears in our eyes from the cold temps and added winds. Melissa & Jim were troopers though, and really tried hard to keep each other warm. Cheers to braving the frigid temperatures you guys, if only we’d had some snow! Here are a few favourites to share with you just in time to ring in the New Year. Looking forward to the wedding in May!

LYNDSAY & JEFF’S ENGAGEMENT SESSION!

Well what can I say, I don’t want to play favourites but I’m pretty sure that this was one of my favourite Engagement sessions this year! Lyndsay is adorable and so enthusiastic and stylish, we hit it off right when we first met! She and Jeff are adorable together, and know the importance of some good fashion accessories. A great accessory can add some unique style to your images, and definitely gives things a little variety. The weather that Saturday was GORGEOUS, and it was November! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ojibway Park so busy before, there was literally no parking, and people just kept coming and coming. We started off the session with their cute puppy Jersey who was very photogenic (LOL). Lyndsay’s mom and sister were so sweet and hung around to look after Jersey while we made our way around Ojibway Park. The lighting this day was to die for!! As usual I couldn’t help myself but show Lyndsay and Jeff sneak peeks on the back of my camera. Our 1 hour session ended up being an almost 2 hour session, we had a blast together!! Here are some of my favourites, there are definitely a lot! I cannot wait until the wedding Lyndsay & Jeff! Enjoy!

MELISSA & DAVE’S ENGAGEMENT SESSION!

On a cloudy afternoon this past Halloween I met Melissa & Dave at J.R. Park Homestead in Essex for their Engagement session. We arrived and were met with gate blocking our entrance. Luckily I had called earlier that morning and found out that the grounds were closed, but we were still permitted to photograph there. It ended up working out really well because we had the whole grounds to ourselves! It was pretty chilly, and poor Dave was sick with a cold, but he made it through the session like a trooper and the 3 of us created some beautiful images together. Looking forward to the wedding next October Melissa & Dave! P.S for anyone who is curious Melissa’s awesome jeans are 7 for All Mankind, I love them!

JACKIE & JOHN’S ENGAGEMENT SESSION!

I LOVE WINE. I LOVE WINERIES. I LOVE WHEN CLIENTS WANT TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED AT WINERIES. Last year I met Jackie & John while photographing Chantelle & Chadd’s wedding, they were both in the wedding party. Not long after they were engaged, and inquiring about having me as their wedding photographer too! I was so excited to have them book with me! Jackie & John are wine lovers, as am I, so what better place to do their Engagement photographs than at a Winery. A few weeks back we headed out to Colio Estate Winery, on a cloudy afternoon, and had the whole vineyard to ourselves. The lighting was soft and beautiful, and the 3 of us had a great time. A little wine makes everything better (LOL) and I encourage clients to perhaps have a sip of a cocktail before being photographed, especially if you’re nervous. It definitely calms the nerves, but keep in mind that a little goes a long way (LOL). I am so excited to share these beautiful images with you. Jackie & John you guys are so great, looking forward to the wedding in June!

ALISON & MIKE’S ENGAGEMENT SESSION!

A few weeks back I photographed Alison & Mike for their Engagement session. These two are adorable, I had so much fun with the two of them! Alison & Mike are both teachers so we opted for some great brick walls, and some colourful backdrops, sort of reminiscent of their Elementary School days (LOL). While strolling around some of my favourite places to shoot, we even ran into some construction workers, who were catcalling these two while they kissed. I think you’ll know the images where that took place, by the looks on Alison & Mike’s faces, and them then breaking out into laughter. The construction guys were entertaining, and I’m sure we entertained them too. Looking forward to the wedding in July Alison & Mike! As always, feel free to leave your feedback below.

ANNEMARIE & PAUL’S ENGAGEMENT SESSION!

I can’t say it enough, I LOVE what I do, and I love when I get to meet and work with such amazing couples, who truly appreciate art, style, and the real emotion and chemistry behind creating beautiful photographs. Although I am the photographer, it really is a team effort, and it’s so rewarding to see the excitement in couples’ eyes when I show them sneak peeks on the back of my camera. When we’re on a roll I get so excited, and can’t help myself!

A while back I photographed Annemarie & Paul for their Engagement session at Paul’s Uncle’s sprawling property in Harrow. I could not have asked for a more perfect and beautiful location, there was so much to work with there, it was great! Annemarie & Paul are not only a gorgeous couple, but absolute naturals in front of the camera, with magnetic chemistry. I loved watching them from behind the camera, and witnessing how truly perfect they are for each other. There were so many fantastic images that this post might be a little longer than usual, as it was really hard to narrow it down to my favourites, because I love them all! Annemarie & Paul you guys were such a pleasure to be around and photograph, looking forward to the wedding in May!

JULIE & SCOTT’S ENGAGEMENT SESSION!

Now that wedding season is officially over for me, it’s time to catch up on Engagement Sessions! Expect to see a lot of posts over the next few weeks.

A while back I photographed Julie & Scott for their Engagement Session. Julie and Scott both enjoy nature and the outdoors, so we headed to Ruscom Shores. It was a warm and sunny day, and beautifully scenic. There were a lot of bugs out to bother us, but we managed to escape without being eaten alive.
