Eryn Shea Photography bio picture
  • Welcome to my BLOG!

My name is Eryn and I am a Windsor based wedding photographer, who absolutely adores weddings, meeting new people, and of course being creative :) What better job could I ask for than being able to combine all 3 of those elements.

Images that are modern, fashion inspired, fresh, and highly stylized yet beautifully simple are my forte. Photographing couples in unconventional locations is a real passion of mine. Combining this style with the natural alluring qualities of couples makes for some truly beautiful images.

This blog will allow me to showcase my most recent work, for your viewing pleasure.
Feel free to leave comments, and of course if you're looking for a wedding photographer in the Windsor area, throughout Southwestern Ontario, or for your destination wedding, please contact me!

    Thanks for stopping by!
A special thank you to Jayme for my bio pic!

Jenn & Kamil’s spring garden Windsor Wedding!

I first met Jenn and Kamil in the early months of 2009.  They are such sweet, easy going and genuine people, I was so happy to have had them referred to me by Jenn’s friend Lisa, whose wedding I was shooting in July of ’09 (and who was also going to be standing as one of Jenn’s bridesmaids).  It was great because Jenn was Lisa’s maid of honor in her wedding, so we were able to work together before her own wedding.

Jenn and Kamil braved the cold temps this past January for their engagement session downtown at one of their favourites hang out places the Pour House (which has now become a popular shooting locale for many photographers).  You can check out their Engagement Session here.

Jenn and Kamil’s wedding day was one of the first sunny Saturdays in May, and it made their garden party wedding at Willistead Manor even more beautiful!  Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony, and then we quickly escaped to go and get creative!  A special thanks to Willistead Manor for being so accommodating and helpful, and letting us use some of their beautiful rooms as a backdrop for their photographs.  It was a beautiful day all around,  and being able to reunite with past clients and familiar faces is always a pleasure!

Here are a few favourites from their day!

It’s always a pleasure getting to work with my friend Lana!  Jenn looked gorgeous!

Jenn’s flowers were so gorgeous and colourful. She and Kamil love travelling to many tropical destinations, so her choice of island inspired flowers was perfect!

So pretty.

Love this one.

Pretty much every single image below is a favourite!  Awesomely sweet couple + Willistead Manor = the makings for some beautiful photographs!

Adorable.

The wedding party definitely kept me laughing…LOL.

I just love this picture!

A Polish vodka tradition…..

Guess who won?

Kamil had some very special words spoken in Polish for this grandmother who had made the trip all the way from Poland, it was so sweet.

Another special moment.

And of course I had to end with a great shot of my 2 brides Lisa & Jenn!

Melissa & Jim’s sunny Sunday wedding!

I see a pattern developing here, my blogposts are starting to get bigger and bigger each time…LOL….I can’t help it.

From the first initial email that I received from Melissa about booking me for wedding photography, I knew I was going to like this gal.  She was very sweet and had a great sense of humour.  Melissa & Jim were referred to me by Leanne & Gabe, who’s wedding I photographed last September.  I am so appreciative of all of the client referrals I’ve received and I was especially thankful for this one.  You see Melissa & Jim are a couple who are soooo in love that everyone around them can just see the glow that they emanate when they’re together.  These two are truly bonded, and are ‘always connected’ as Melissa once told me, and it is such a joy to photograph them and just be around them.

We braved the coldest winter day in December for their engagement session at Pelee Island Winery, so it was a nice change to have one of the most gorgeous and sunniest days for their wedding day!! Melissa & Jim were married in a beautiful sunny outdoor ceremony at Ambassador Golf Course.  Jim is a big golfer, so working the golf theme into their wedding photographs was a definite must, and so much fun!  My assistant Kelly and I even had the chance to drive around our own golf kart, sooo much fun!

This was a different type of day for me because it began immediately with the Ceremony, which was incredibly beautiful!  The girls arrived by limo safe and sound thankfully, as earlier on in the day while driving from the salon to Melissa’s parents house they were rear ended!?!?  Can you believe that, a car accident on her wedding day!  Here’s hoping that their unfortunate bad luck on the road will bring their marriage extra special good luck!  Melissa & Jim are honeymooning in Spain right now (jealous..), and I am excited to have this surprise blog post for them to see upon their return.

Melissa & Jim thank you so much for sharing your beautiful love, life and laughter with me, it was a pleasure!!  And a special hello and thanks to Izzy & Olivia (Melissa’s daughters) who were so beautiful and adorable, and had an impromptu photo session with Kelly and I!

Jim the handsome Groom.

Melissa the beautiful Bride.  After a few minor adjustments they were ready to head right into the Ceremony.

I snapped this one right before the Ceremony was about to start.

I love expressions on the guys’ faces!  I wonder what Jim’s Best Man is saying to him as soon as they have their first look at the gorgeous Bride Melissa!

Gotta love that excitement!!

Love this one.

I love those specials moments right after they sign the marriage license…….when they are able to sneak away for about 1 or 2 minutes while their witnesses sign.  It’s really their first chance to talk to each other away from center stage when they think no one is watching.  The next 3 are why I adore Melissa & Jim, you can just feel their love for each other.

Jim’s Grandmother looks so proud, I love this one!

The girls.

The guys.

Adorable.

I just can’t get enough of the next 2.  They’re all favourites in my book.

Off to sneak onto the greens…LOL.

Love it!  The sky was so clear that you could see the moon.

Shhhhhhh….wearing heels on the greens…..we were very careful.

I know stop it right…..another favourite!

And another love.

I personally really love when couples’ have their first dance together as soon as they enter the hall.  It gets everything started!

Adorable.

And THEN Melissa & her two girls Izzy & Olivia did their ‘Single Ladies’ dance!!!!!!!  So awesome!!  It’s those personal touches that are so memorable.

Lovin’ that gorgeous warm sunlight, we had to sneak out!

And Izzy & Olivia had a little impromptu photo session with us, aren’t they sweet?!

Such a sweet moment.

Little Izzy was breaking out all of her best dance moves the entire night, and kept the dance floor hopping!

Beautiful.

Erin & Mike’s London Engagement Session!

Last January I received a phone call from Erin who wanted to book me for her July 2010 wedding over the phone.  Normally I meet with potential clients prior to their booking, but in this case Erin aka Eryn  was 100% certain that she wanted to work with me.  That is such a cool feeling when someone just loves your work so much that they want to book you on the spot!  Erin and I share a little thing in common in that well we’re both named Erin, and we both like to spell our names differently, hence the ERYN Shea Photography thing.  She and Mike currently live in London, a city that I spent 3 years in while going to College.  Shooting an Engagement Session there was going to be a first for me and it was also going to be our first actual meeting!  So 2 weeks ago I headed up to London for their e-session, it was cloudy all day long but luckily the rain held off, until my drive home of course LOL….  Erin and Mike had searched around for the perfect shooting locations, and they did a great job!  We didn’t end up getting to all of them, but what we did get to use we made great work of!

Erin & Mike will be getting married here in Windsor on July 10th, which is so soon!   Thanks so much you guys for being so adventurous, I had a blast!  Here are some faves!

Love it.

Normally I’m not a big fan of that hand colouring effect, but for some reason it really works for this image……..the song that Mike was singing to Erin while they were siting on this fallen down tree was…..’Hey Baby’ remember the scene from Dirty Dancing when Johnny and Baby were dancing on the log/fallen down tree??? LOL…too funny.

Love this one.

Erin and Mike brought along their adorable puppy Rowan for a few shots who was a little hyper at first, as all pups are, but eventually calmed down and worked the camera.

Love this one too….

And this one…..

A quick outfit change and then we headed downtown.

Another love.  There was so much to work with downtown, it was great!

Love these two.

And this one.

Too cute.

And another absolute fave.

Annemarie & Paul’s gorgeous & stylish Windsor Wedding!

A few weeks back  I had the pleasure of joining Annemarie & Paul on their big day, and documenting every second of it.  This blogpost will have to go on record as my biggest post by far, but I just couldn’t narrow down my favourites to any less than what you will see  before your eyes.  It was an extra long day of wedding coverage for me, 14 hours to be exact, but I enjoyed every single gorgeous detail of it.  It was also one of the windiest days I have ever seen, and the weather could not seem to make up its mind.  One minute it was cloudy and spitting rain, the next minute it was sunny and bright, all the while continuing with crazy high winds.  We started off the day early at Paul’s parents’ house, where the guys were just getting into their tuxes.  A midst the commotion Paul’s parents’ adorable dog just hung out, calm as can be.

We then headed over to Annemarie’s parents’ beautiful home.  Annemarie looked amazing!!!  She actually does make-up for weddings herself, and she chose to do her own make-up on her own wedding day, and wow did she look gorgeous.  After a beautiful ceremony at St. Angela’s Church on Erie Street, we quickly headed to the Art Gallery of Windsor for some photographs.  It was so windy that standing in the peak on the 3rd floor of the Art Gallery I swear you could feel the building moving.

After the AGW we headed downtown to a few of my favourite spots for some photographs.  Special thanks to Annemarie & Paul’s Bridal Party who got me out of getting a parking ticket while we were off shooting:) After a great creative session it was off to the Ciociaro Club for the Reception festivities.

Annemarie & Paul thank you so much for choosing to share your chic and fabulous day with me, I had a blast!

Totally oblivious, what a cutie.

The handsome Groom.

Yes her shoes were the real deal!  I was in love with her Louboutin’s.

The gorgeous Bride.

Isn’t she stunning?  And she did her own make-up!  Flawless.

I love the next two.  Annemarie’s parents’ home was absolutely beautiful and the perfect setting for her Bridal photographs.

Annemarie literally took Paul’s breath away, how sweet.

I love the excitement written all over her face.

Stylish Bridal Party.

After a few shots inside we decided to brave the winds and head out onto the terrace.  The winds were crazy!  I literally had about 5 clicks of my camera and then the inevitable happened, Annemarie’s veil went flying.   My first instinct naturally made me put down my camera and run over to grab it, but Annemarie caught it mid air with her quick reflexes.  The images we captured on the terrace were well worth the risk.

Love these two.

L-O-V-E these.

Two more loves.

Another L-O-V-E….there are too many.

Adorable.

Such a sweet moment.

Annemarie & Paul’s Wedding Teaser

By far this one of the windiest days I’ve ever seen!  Here’s a quick teaser from Annemarie & Paul’s GORGEOUS wedding!  Many more to come….stay tuned.

Julie and Scott’s Windsor Wedding!

I am so excited to be sharing my first official wedding of the season with you all!  What a way to kick off wedding season, with one of the sweetest couples I’ve met!

I met Julie back in early 2009 when she stood as Maid of Honour in Kelly & Marcel’s gorgeous Winter wedding.  When she first called me to see if I was available to photograph her own wedding to her fiance Scott, I was absolutely thrilled!  Julie is one of the sweetest and spunkiest brides I have ever worked with, she is absolutely adorable!!  She and Scott are SO sweet together, it’s like watching a sweet little romantic movie unfold before my lens.  Their ceremony was absolutely one the most beautiful and intimate ceremonies I have ever witnessed, and on top of that it was all beautifully and naturally window lit!  (a photographer’s dream).

The two of them emote such natural class and ease, the day was an absolute joy!  Thank you so much Julie & Scott for being such sweethearts and for inviting me to be apart of such a lovely and joy filled day!

Julie is all smiles as usual!

This is such a fitting image.  It’s now Julie’s big day and Kelly is her Maid of Honour, just as Julie was Kelly’s Maid of honour on her big day…awwwww.

She’s such a class act.

Love these 2.

I LOVE this shot!  And this is just one of many, Julie’s face was beaming all day long her smile is so contagious!

L-O-V-E these two!

And these…..

So sweet.

Julie & Scott’s natural classic elegance paired with this Southern inspired, estate looking building was the perfect pairing!

As you can see they are ADORABLE! (sigh)

The sweetest thing was when Julie presented her bouquet to her Grandparents in honour of their meaningful relationship…..watch for her Grandmother’s reaction…

Sharon’s Toronto Trash the Dress Session!

A few weeks ago my assistant and I took a trek up to Toronto to reconnect and photograph my past bride Sharon!  We had searched for a few different shooting locations on the internet, and found an amazing site, the old Kodak Building.

It is a favourite shooting spot with many photographers in the Toronto area, and it was a perfectly suiting location for the type of shoot that Sharon wanted to do.  Fast forward to our arrival at the location, only to find that the entrances and window access on the main floor had been recently all boarded up, as in only a few days prior.  What bad luck!

But the adventurous person inside of me wasn’t going to let that stop us, until we found something really unsettling and high tailed it out of there LOL.  Though the windows were all boarded up, there was one board that had been hacked at, and it had an opening that a child could squeeze through.  Though we were a little nervous, we peered inside only to find a warning written on the wall reading “there’s a dead body here on the second floor, you’ve been warned”.  Yep no word of a lie.  And whether or not there actually was a corpse inside we’ll never know, but we weren’t taking any chances, and unfortunately we had to make other arrangements for our shoot.

We ended up at an old factory in Toronto, unfortunately there was no access as we had hoped, but we still decided to continue on with Sharon’s Trash the Dress session.  Everything seemed to be working against us, because the weather was all over the place too.  One minute it was sunny and windy, the next freezing and raining, and the next it was hailing!  Poor Sharon battled the elements, she’s a trooper.  (Bad weather has always followed our endeavours, as it rained on Sharon & Adam’s Engagement Session and Wedding Day, but it’s never stopped us!!)

Our session was cut a little short, with all of the day’s hurdles, and I also didn’t want Sharon to get hypothermia.  This session is to be continued this summer:)

What I love most about Trash the Dress or Post Wedding Sessions is that you can make them whatever style you like, and you can really take risks, that perhaps you’re not as comfortable taking on your actual wedding day.  You can make the shoot all your own, and let you what you envision really come to life.

Here are a few favourites from the day!
