Downtown Detroit Engagement | Lindsay + Mike {urban chic love} |

Lindsay & Mike are so much fun!  These two are getting married in December 2012 in The Dominican Republic at their favourite resort, so exciting!!  They both have great style and awesome personalities and are a total blast to be around.

A few weeks back we headed to Downtown Detroit for their Engagement Session, and it was like hanging out with old friends!  It was a hot one so we took our time and popped in and out of a few local pubs to keep these two cool.  There were alot of onlookers and passerbys, some more strange than others….LOL… it was an adventure that’s for sure.

Here are a few favourites from that fun night!

Windsor Vintage Modern Wedding | Tegan + Mike {chic vintage modern love}

Tegan & Mike.  Probably the most adorable couple I’ve ever met!!  They are the definition of sweet love, a love that is endearing and incredibly joyful to watch unfold.  Seeing them interact with one another, and witnessing the way that they look at each other, really gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling inside.  You know that it’s real, and that these two are sooooo right for each other. They are a delight to be around, so kind, genuine, and sweet.  Two wonderful people who found each other on a soccer field.  Yep they met while both playing soccer back in University.

Their Engagement session was pretty incredible, I had such a blast with these two.  If you haven’t already, be sure to check out their awesome Engagement Session that took place in a barn.

Their wedding day was on one of the hottest days in June, and these two were all smiles and so excited to finally be each other’s forever.  After a beautiful ceremony, we braved the humid temperatures for their Creative Session.  Tegan and Mike you are both such troopers for withstanding the hot humid temperatures, the swarms of mosquitoes, and poor Tegan with a cold to boot.  Their Reception was full of laughter and tears of joy, with probably some of the most heartfelt speeches I’ve ever heard.  It is such a delight to be around you both, and I will always cherish the fun adventures that we’ve had, creating some beautiful memories together!

Wishing you all the continued love and happiness in the world!

Here are a few favourites from Tegan & Mike’s beautiful wedding day:

I looooved Tegan’s shoes!

She is such a natural beauty!

Watching Mike’s reaction to seeing Tegan come down the aisle almost made me tear up behind my lens….

How cute are they??

I also loved the girls royal blue dresses!

Adorable.

LOVE.

And more LOVE.

LOVE.  I love that this book of poems was a gift to Tegan from Mike earlier on in their relationship.  So sweet.

Isn’t she just gorgeous?

We had to work in their love of soccer too ;)

They are just the cutest!

Mike loves the L.A Lakers, so there were a few surprise Laker tokens around…….Mike whenever I watch Khloe and Lamar I will now think of you watching to0…LOL.

Susan deWaard - I love these photos – they capture a perfect day for a lovely couple. Tegan, you look gorgeous and the pictures of Mike, especially the first ones, are sensational too. But the very best ones are of the two of you together, laughing and having a wonderful time!
love Mom

Amherstburg Vintage Modern Wedding Photography | Shelby & Joe {all you need is love} |

I adore all of my clients equally, but I do have to say that I was even more excited than ever for Shelby & Joe’s wedding.  Shelby & Joe are such an awesome couple!!!  These two are the epitome of young love.  Their unique, quirky and indie style, paired with always being game for anything, has made for nothing but fun with these two.

Shelby and Joe have known that they were going to be each other’s forevers for quite some time now.  They have a beautiful little girl together named Lennah who they love dearly!  Two more loves that they share are their love of Star Wars, and their love of music….especially the Beatles!  Even their daughter Lennah is named after John Lennon!  So you can image my excitement when Shelby talked all about her wedding day details, and really wanted to incorporate their two mega-loves in their somehow :)

The weeks leading up to their wedding, Shelby and I would talk all about the little details, and we were both giddy with excitement to see everything come together!  The morning of Shelby & Joe’s wedding Kelly and I walked into Shelby’s house, and this gal was still working on her bouquets.  It’s true most creative types are procrastinators, I am the first to admit that…hahaha.  Shelby is a definite DIY Bride, with so many awesome ideas!  She put so much thought and creativity into all of her wedding day details, it was such a delight.

Shelby and Joe were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Navy Yard Park in Amherstburg.  It was the sweetest ceremony I’ve ever witnessed, I even shed a tear for this adorable duo from behind my lens.  It was so sweet to be able to be around Shelby & Joe with their daughter Lennah.  Being able to share such an important day with her was such a beautiful thing to capture.

I could go on forever……Shelby & Joe rock!  I could have photographed these two all day long, but we had a wedding reception to get to…where by the way their entire music set list throughout dinner was all music by the Beatles.

Shelby & Joe I adore you both, and thank you both so much for just being your awesome selves, always up for anything :)

Here are a few favourites from their wedding day:

A Groom who is game to mess around on his skateboard in a suit is pretty rad in my books.

Don’t you love her dress!!!!  And the hanger is off of Etsy, if you haven’t heard of Etsy then you’re missing out.

Shelby’s shoes were amazing!

Just look at her.

Everyone’s heart strings were being tugged on.

Adorable as usual!

Pretty awesome that all the guys were matching sneakers.

We loved the girls green dresses and pink shoes!

An ode to Abbey Road sort of…..in Amherstburg..LOL.

{Sigh}

Isn’t she the cutest!

Shelby found these awesome pink records, just days before the wedding.

2 more loves.

LOVE.

I don’t think they could be more photogenic together.

Shelby made these place cards….she used CD cover art from the Beatles albums as table numbers….pretty awesome.

Shelby’s maid of honour made this awesomely funky cake.

Windsor Newborn Photography | Autumn {my little niece} |

So I thought I’d share this little beauty with you all.  My little baby niece Autumn is just gorgeous.  I suppose I am completely biased because we are related, but wow at 2 weeks old this little munchkin was ready for the world.  I spent some time with her  in Ottawa a few months back, and just couldn’t get enough.  I thought that she’d be sleepy most of the time, but not this one.  She was bright eyed and ready for the camera.

Maybe she knew she was in good hands with her Auntie, so she was willing to co-operate….who knows.  I will say that I am already picturing what she will say to me when she grows up and realizes that her Aunt had her in a birdcage when she was just 2 weeks old….hahahhaa.  I will also admit that a big part of me felt so incredibly guilty placing her into all these props, but the photographer in me kept me from putting my camera down.

My brother’s new little family is adorable.

Check out this little beauty…I call her {munch} ;)

This is when my heart sank….

But eventually she feel asleep…..

A little impromptu Family session…..
