I will never forget their Engagement Session that was so fun and full of laughs, even though it was pretty chilly outside.  You can check out their adorable Engagement Session here.  Christine & Nelson’s proposal story is probably hands down the best story I’ve heard to date.  You see Christine is totally terrified of roller-coasters, and well Nelson and Christine were at a Cedar Point on a roller-coaster (the Maverick) when Nelson decided to pop the question!  Christine was so terrified of being on the ride that she didn’t even notice that Nelson was proposing to her! Awwwww….once she finally clued in to what was really going on, she said YES!

Christine & Nelson are huge music lovers, and are both talented when it comes to music in their own ways.  These two are so sweet, and just full of love of goodness, it is an pleasure to be around them.  Being given the honour of documenting their beautiful wedding day was the best part of it all!  Christine & Nelson were married in one of the most moving and powerful ceremonies I have ever photographed.  I was so moved that I was getting goosebumps watching them sing together with so much passion and love.

After their beautiful ceremony we headed out for a few hours for a Creative Session that was colourful, fun-filled and a total blast!  It was very representative of these two, and how much fun they have together.  Christine & Nelson were up for anything, and it was so refreshing!

After our awesome Creative Session, we headed to the Caboto Club for a small tea ceremony.  There were so many details to photograph….I (heart) details.  Shortly afterwards the festivities began with their reception, which was full of a lot of laughs, DANCING, and tears!

Christine & Nelson we had more fun than I could have even imagined with you on your wedding day, and will cherish it for years to come!

Elisa & Anthony are very well matched, they are always laughing and having fun together, it’s a really a joy to watch.  They wanted their wedding to reflect their own style, they both favoured a more traditional-tuscan style wedding with a bit of a modern twist, and we found some really great locations for their wedding photographs!

The day started early with Anthony and his groomsmen, and the weather was a bit cloudy and dreary, but that did not put a damper on anyone’s spirits…LOL (no pun intended).  Everyone was eager to get things started!

We were then off to join Elisa & the girls.  Elisa spent the morning having her make-up done by her soon to be sister-in-law Annemarie (she’s to talented), and she looked amazing!  Elisa’s Enzoani dress was gorgeous, and she looked simply stunning in it!!!

All together this has to be one of the largest Wedding parties I’ve ever photographed, 22 people in total, and everyone looked so great together!

Elisa & Anthony were married in a traditional Catholic ceremony before their family and friends at St. Angela’s Church on Erie Street.

After a quick Creative Session, and just escaping the rain it was off to the Ciociaro Club to get the nighttime festivities started!  Elisa & Anthony had one of the most exquisite and delicious antipasto bars, it was beautiful!  The night was filled with lots of laughter, tears, and dancing!

What more could I  have asked for right?  Oh yes…..and there was still their wedding left to come!!!

The months began to fly by shortly after April, and Jenn was busy finalizing her wedding plans and all of the wonderful last minute details.  I too was counting down the days until their incredible wedding day, and kept in touch with Jenn by email to hear and see about all of her unique wedding ideas.  Jenn and I are very much alike in that we love the details, and when it came to her wedding day, not one was overlooked.  I wanted the same for them with their wedding photographs, details galore, which meant a location and style that reflected the vision of their wedding day.

Jenn looked stunning, she found her dress in a gorgeous Chicago bridal boutique, and it was a sample dress….what a lucky find!  Marty looked equally handsome, and the two of them together….WOW….they looked like movie stars!  Marty seemed calm and relaxed early in the morning, surrounded by his closest guys, and you could see that he was relishing in the moment, and anticipating getting the day started.

When I arrived at Jenn’s parent’s house, Jenn greeted us at the door with the biggest and warmest smile!  All day long, from the second I arrived to the end of the night, Jenn was beaming with excitement, it was such a treat!  I have never seen someone smile more on their wedding day than Jenn did!

When it just so happens that I have some sort of personal connection to a couple (Jenn & Marty are old friends of my brother and I knew them growing up) it makes their entire wedding day even that much more special!  Their day was gorgeous…….full of love, joy, laughter, tears and some wonderful vintage-modern style.  A special thank you to Jenn & Marty’s parents’ for making Kelly and I feel so welcome all day long.

To quote Marty (& Usher), all I have left to say is “Ohhh-Myyy!!”….LOL.

I’m putting my craftiness to good use!  I used to love making crafts as a kid, there’s something so relaxing about it, and I love the end result and the feeling of ‘hey I made that’. They fit in perfectly with Jenn & Marty’s wedding style.

On July 10th, Erin & Mike were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the backyard of Erin’s parents’ gorgeous home.  It was the perfect setting!  There were so many stylish touches to their entire day I was in love!  Their Bridal Party wore sunglasses during the ceremony procession, and the girls passed their glasses off to the guys to hold onto during the ceremony, it was a very cute touch.  Erin even worked in a few quotes from the Sex and The City movie into her ceremony,I was hooked!  The girls wore adorable black cocktail dresses complete with pockets, and the guys wore all black with white ties and suspenders, and some awesome converse high-tops to boot!  The style elements that Erin & Mike included in their wedding day really added so much character to their images, and really reflected their fun and light-hearted personalities.

The adventures continued on their wedding day!  To Erin her wedding images were everything, and it is such a great feeling to hear that from a bride.  When clients are open to getting creative and trusting me when I take them to some unconventional locations (LOL), the possibilities are endless!  We ventured all over town into downtown back alleys, and through fields of  weeds and tall grass, and these two were excited for all of it!

Their Reception was full of laughs, tears, dancing and even some classic Phil Collins (a fave of Erin & Mike’s)

These two are the perfect match!  The connection between Erin & Mike is so clearly evident, it is an absolute joy just to be around them!

Fast forward to July 3rd and their big day was here!   Alison is very close friends with an old friend of mine, the very talented make-up artist Lana Baker.  I thought it was so great that Alison was able to have one of her closest friends do her make-up for her on her big day (no pressure) and also be a bridesmaid.  Needless to say Alison looked amazing!  And Mike cleaned up pretty well too….LOL.  Alison and Mike were married in a traditional Catholic ceremony, before their closest family and friends.  We stopped off at 2 of my favourite locations for their Creative Session, Branteaney’s B&B and The Art Gallery of Windsor.  Let me just say that a fun Bridal Party always makes the day even more enjoyable for me, and Alison & Mike’s Bridal Party was no exception there.  They were a blast!

Mike and 2 of his Groomsmen put on a show for everyone!!!  They had a completely choreographed dance full of awesomeness and coloured bandanas!  Definitely one of the highlights of the night!  If you scroll down you’ll see a few shots from their awesome performance!

Alison and Mike both work in education and with children so I knew that we should totally work in some fun things into their wedding images.

Lyndsay and Jeff are two my most favourite people!  When Lyndsay called me early last year to book me for her Scottish wedding, I was so excited to meet with her.  Just her email alone was full of excitement and happiness, and I couldn’t wait to meet this gal her in person, and to hear all of the little details.  Lyndsay’s spunk and enthusiasm was infectious, and it felt like meeting with a long time friend.  Fast forward to November when we ventured into Ojibway for their gorgeous Engagement Session on probably the warmest, most beautiful day I’ve yet to experience in a traditionally cold and rainy month.  It was a family affair that day, Lyndsay & Jeff brought along their puppy Jersey for a few photographs, and Lyndsay’s mom and sister were there too, to look after Jersey after she’d had her time in the spotlight.  From the second I was around Lyndsay’s infectious laughter, and spunk coupled with Jeff’s sweet and calm personality, I knew the three of us were going to have a blast together!  The love, warmth and connection that they have with another is so beautiful to be around!

As their wedding date started to slowly approach, Lynds would keep me up to speed on all her planning and details.  Lyndsay is a talented, creative and crafty DIY bride, who put so much thought and effort into her wedding day, which I adore!  Details are such a huge part of any couple’s wedding day, and Lyndsay didn’t overlook a thing.  I even added a few vintage-rustic items from my collection to their wedding day, it added that special little touch their images.

The two of them were married in gorgeous outdoor ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.  The day was filled with Scottish traditions, vintage-modern-rustic flair, and just all around love and warmth!  I have never felt more welcomed, or treated more like a family member than I did at their wedding!  A special thank you to Maureen & Tom for being so sweet to Kelly and I all day long!

Scottish money tradition, where in Scotland the Bride throws money into the streets, and children are supposed to come running into the streets to claim it.  In Windsor though, there were only about 2 kids, and they were a little timid about taking part LOL.

Jackie & John decided to have their ‘first look’ before their ceremony which was so great!  It made them feel at ease going into the ceremony, knowing that they didn’t have to race off for their creative session, instead they were able to mingle and interact with their guests.  I definitely recommend that more couples consider that option, as it really does create some beautiful ‘reveal’ images, and makes you feel so relaxed.

In the afternoon, against the backdrop of the Detroit skyline, Jackie & John were married before their closest friends and family, and the rain completely held off the entire day!! That was until late into the night when Windsor had one of the most torrential downpours and unfortunately saw a lot of flooding.  Fortunately  Jackie & John along with their guests, were warm and dry inside their beautiful Reception at the St. Clair Center for the Arts.  The food was amazing!  Jackie’s intricate attention to detail made for such a beautifully elegant setting!  And her parents put together the most beautiful presentation of old video footage of Jackie growing up, it was so sweet!

Jenn and Kamil’s wedding day was one of the first sunny Saturdays in May, and it made their garden party wedding at Willistead Manor even more beautiful!  Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony, and then we quickly escaped to go and get creative!  A special thanks to Willistead Manor for being so accommodating and helpful, and letting us use some of their beautiful rooms as a backdrop for their photographs.  It was a beautiful day all around,  and being able to reunite with past clients and familiar faces is always a pleasure!

From the first initial email that I received from Melissa about booking me for wedding photography, I knew I was going to like this gal.  She was very sweet and had a great sense of humour.  Melissa & Jim were referred to me by Leanne & Gabe, who’s wedding I photographed last September.  I am so appreciative of all of the client referrals I’ve received and I was especially thankful for this one.  You see Melissa & Jim are a couple who are soooo in love that everyone around them can just see the glow that they emanate when they’re together.  These two are truly bonded, and are ‘always connected’ as Melissa once told me, and it is such a joy to photograph them and just be around them.

We braved the coldest winter day in December for their engagement session at Pelee Island Winery, so it was a nice change to have one of the most gorgeous and sunniest days for their wedding day!! Melissa & Jim were married in a beautiful sunny outdoor ceremony at Ambassador Golf Course.  Jim is a big golfer, so working the golf theme into their wedding photographs was a definite must, and so much fun!  My assistant Kelly and I even had the chance to drive around our own golf kart, sooo much fun!

This was a different type of day for me because it began immediately with the Ceremony, which was incredibly beautiful!  The girls arrived by limo safe and sound thankfully, as earlier on in the day while driving from the salon to Melissa’s parents house they were rear ended!?!?  Can you believe that, a car accident on her wedding day!  Here’s hoping that their unfortunate bad luck on the road will bring their marriage extra special good luck!  Melissa & Jim are honeymooning in Spain right now (jealous..), and I am excited to have this surprise blog post for them to see upon their return.
