Michelle + Andrew | Fall Windsor Wedding

Michelle + Andrew are HighSchool sweethearts! They have been together for a really long time, but when you’re around them you’d almost think that it was a new relationship for them, full of excitement, fun, and affection! It is so refreshing to see a couple totally smitten for each other after having been together for such a long time. That’s when you know it’s a great match! Everyone around them knew that Michelle + Andrew were destined to be each other’s forever. Even Michelle + Andrew themselves knew early on that they had met their true match.

Their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous, the weather was beautifully sunny and warm, unlike most typical November days. We were graced with the most gorgeous light, itt was so meant to be! Michelle + Andrew really just glow and emanate this light of happiness when they’re together, I couldn’t have pictured a more perfect day for them.

While sitting at their Reception watching their awesome slideshow (that Michelle put together herself) you almost felt like you were there in the photos, reliving those moments with them. They’ve shared so many great memories together already with their family and friends, always smiling, laughing and really just enjoying life together. It’s exciting to think about all the new memories that they will now create together.

Michelle + Andrew I adore you both! Being around the two of you together is always the makings for an awesomely fun time! You’ve really made us feel like such an important part of your wedding day, and your entire wedding planning, and that really means a lot to us.

Meghan + James | Viewpointe Estate Winery Wedding

Meghan + James are a couple that are a whole lot of fun! Everytime I’m around these two there’s lots of laughter. These two are so goofy, cute, and completely hilarious that no matter where we are with them, whether it be outside in the middle of a random huge snowstorm, or amidst a bunch of onlookers as we stroll the streets of downtown Amherstburg, there is always a good time to be had! Their wedding day was no different.

Meghan + James decided to include a great group of friends in their wedding party, and it was such a fun group to be around!

Top that off with a ‘First Look’ that had these two cracking up, the quickest ceremony ever, and a great relaxed day with a ton of time for photographs, and you have the makings for a really awesome wedding! And it was!

I love First Looks. I’ve said it so many times before but really I think that Meghan + James’ wedding is the perfect example of just how relaxed, stress-free and fun a wedding day can be! They were able to spend the entire day together, and you could tell that they loved every minute of it.

After a fun filled day, the nighttime festivities were quickly underway, with more fun to be had. At the end of our night the dancefloor was totally packed, and I’m pretty sure it probably stayed that way. On our way out we could hear how great the party was from all the way outside.

Laura + Thomas | Amherstburg Vintage Modern Wedding

Laura + Thomas are the epitome of young love! They are head over heels, completely smitten, I only-have-eyes-for-you in LOVE! It is such a sweet thing to witness. Hearing Thom reminisce about the day he first laid eyes on Laura, and how he thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world made my heart melt. He knew from that very moment that Laura was the girl he would marry some day, and years later his vision finally came true. Laura is full of life, beautiful, energetic, and such a sweet person. Thomas adores he with every ounce of himself, you can see it and feel it when he looks at her. It’s pretty powerful and connecting love.

Laura is also a photographer, so you can imagine the subtle nerves that I felt working with a Bride that understands wedding photography and ‘gets it’. Laura +Thomas were a last minute inquiry, and were taking on the task of planning a very detailed wedding in a matter of 3 short months! Every detail was planned with Laura’s special touch, and it all came together beautifully. It is possible to plan a wedding in 3 months. Since Laura has worked with Brides of her own, she had an even clearer picture of what she envisioned for her own wedding.

All I have felt from this sweet girl from the day I met her was such heartfelt adoration and excitement to be working with me. What a grrrreat feeling!! It made me have a permanent smile whenever I was in her company, or chatting with her about her wedding plans. So you can imagine my excitement when the big day finally rolled around!

We started off early in the morning with Thom who was excited to finally marry his dream girl. We were literally steps away from Laura (she was right next door) who was busy finishing up her bouquets, and letting that exciting feeling of ‘today’s the day’ really sink in!

Laura + Thom had planned to have a First Look early in the day, so that the day was more relaxed, and so that we had loads of time for photographs! I love when clients have First Looks, and we’ve captured a lot of them this season. It really sets a more relaxed, and laid back tone to a day that is commonly filled with rushing around, and sometimes missing out on the little moments because everyone is so focused on time. First Looks give you a chance to have such a sweet and intimate moment together early in the day. For many couples that is such a reassuring feeling, being next to the one they love and feel most comfortable with. This way you are really experiencing the day together as a couple, and you get to spend more time together Laura + Thom’s first look was so sweet, I have to admit that I was a little teary eyed watching it unfold.

We had several hours for photographs with this sweet couple, and their Bridal Party, pretty much a dream for us! It was chilly, and probably one of the windiest days ever, and not one complaint from this adorable Bride. The excitement of their wedding day overpowered everything else

Maybe it was the decadent Tiramisu (LOL), but we left their wedding feeling like we were on cloud nine, having been around such sweet and heartfelt young love, and having had such a relaxing day with Laura + Thom. It really was such a memorable day, and I am so happy to share it with you.

It’s funny because most photographers feel so awkward being on the other side of the lens. Laura is the exception, she knew how to work it in front of the camera.

As I said we had loads of time for photographs, which is such a dream on a wedding day! Laura made arrangements at an indoor location to change things up a bit. Vito’s is definitely a favourite shooting spot of mine.

Laura + Thom were married at the Apostolic Christian Church in Windsor. There are no photographs permitted during the ceremony, so we couldn’t photograph inside the sanctuary. But we could still watch the ceremony from the doorway. It was a very powerful ceremony, and some really meaningful words on love and partnerships were professed, it was rather moving. Though I couldn’t photograph inside the sanctuary I was still able to snap a few photos at the beginning and end of the ceremony……very quietly

Dhyana from It’s a Swanky Affair did a beautiful job on the decor.

The wedding cake by Renee’s Fine Cakes was a showpiece in itself.

Laura + Thom’s wedding reception had one of the most incredible dessert tables. Many of de-lish desserts were homemade by several ladies of the Church. It was a sight! On more than one occasion both Laura and her mom insisted that we stay for dessert and sample the homemade treats. And we did WOW! Best Tiramisu ever!

Beth + Kent have such a great story, they’ve known each other since their early Grade School days. I have also known these two since their Grade School days, and I was excited to be apart of their wedding! I love their story! Beth and Kent grew up together, went to Elementary School together, and then Highschool together. They ran in the same circle of friends, and even walked home from school everyday along the very same street. After pursuing different studies after Highschool, they went their separate ways, and then later in life found their way back to each other.

Beth + Kent have such a great little love story that is full of history, and so many great memories! The stories that they will have to share with their own kids someday will be even that much more meaningful.

On a gorgeous Friday afternoon in October Beth + Kent finally made things official! Beth looked so beautiful! These two had a ‘First Look’ before their wedding ceremony, and it was such a great little moment between them. After braving some unrelenting mosquitoes (LOL) during a quick Creative Session we then headed to the church, where Beth + Kent were married before their closest family and friends.

It was a beautiful day, and I am honoured to have been asked to be apart of it!

Loraine + Andy | Ambassador Golf Club Wedding

Loraine + Andy are two of the sweetest people that I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I first met Loraine when I photographed her sister Sharon’s wedding 2 years ago. Immediately….and I mean immediately I clicked with this gal and saw just how much fun she was. Fast forward to a year later and Loraine was emailing me with excitement to let me know that Andy had proposed to her, and that she wanted to work with me. I couldn’t have been more excited and honoured! Andy proposed to Loraine while they were vacationing in Cuba, it was so romantic. We decided to incorporate that Cuban vibe into their Engagement Session. If you haven’t checked them out already, be sure to have a look at Loraine + Andy’s Cuban inspired Engagement Session here. We even had an awesome vintage car for their shoot!

I adore Loraine…she is always smiling, excited, gitty, silly and full of that infectious laugh! Andy is the sweetest guy in the world, he absolutely adores Loraine and loves every bit of her silliness and fun personality. The two of them together make one of the most genuinely sweet couples, who love to see people smile, and have fun.

My cheeks were literally hurting by the end of the night from smiling and laughing the entire day with these two, and their awesome wedding party!! Seriously one of the most fun weddings!

Loraine + Andy were both so excited to get married, and that was such a sweet thing to witness! After a ceremony that was full of laughter and candid moments we headed out for their Creative Session. It was such a windy day, and probably one of the chilliest in October, but you’d never know by the warmth that these two exude with one another. After a super fun Creative Session we headed to Ambassador Golf Club for their Reception. A Lebanese tradition is the Money Dance, and it was SO much fun! Top that off with amazing food (seriously the pasta was to die for, I think every table asked for seconds…LOL), and lots of laughter, and you have the makings for one awesome party!

I couldn’t have pictured a more perfect wedding day for Nikki & Ryan! The sun was shining, everyone was smiling and having fun, it was such a HAPPY day! You could tell that everyone couldn’t wait to see these two finally make it official. We started the day off with Nikki and her Bridesmaids, and Nikki looked stunning! Every single detail that she chose was so gorgeous, and she was literally just beaming with excitement. Being greeted with her huge smile was a great way to start the day. We couldn’t wait for Ryan to see her, his heart was definitely going to skip a beat.

Nikki & Ryan were married in an intimate ceremony in Kingsville, and were joined by their closest family and friends. As we stepped out of the Church the sun was beaming down on these two, I just knew it was going to be one of those amazing days….and it was! We headed to Lakeside Park for their Creative Session, the light was SO gorgeous I was giddy with excitement….literally…LOL. Nikki & Ryan are so in love, I would catch little glimpses of the way they look at each other with such adoration, it was adorable. Nikki reminded me of a gorgeous mermaid with her curly blond locks, the beautiful flower in her hair, and her gorgeous tropical bouquet….she looked amazing! It was like an island-beach wedding in Kingsville! Top it all off with a really fun wedding party, who had us cracking up the whole time, and you have the makings for an awesome time!

I could have photographed Nikki & Ryan all day, and I really loved how much they were in to their photos….I get excited when my couples are excited, and it’s this whole circle of excitement thing..LOL. After an awesome Creative shoot we headed to the Portuguese Club in Leamington for their Reception. The hall looked stunning, and the backdrop for their wedding cake was hands down the best I’ve ever seen. The night was full of laughs, and some really great stories and speeches. I loved listening to them all, and hearing some funny stories about the two of them.

Nikki & Ryan I adore you both, and thank you for being so laid back and awesome! It was such a fun day with you, thanks for having us!

Brittany & Jason’s wedding was a wedding I had waited all year long for! In the few days leading up to their wedding day the forecast wasn’t working in our favour, afterall it was hurricane season, and that can mean a whole lot of rain sometimes. Since their entire wedding was to be outdoors, you can understand our nerves when the forecast said 100% chance of rain. When does that happen? 100% really? Well as it turned out the rain started early, the day before their wedding was to take place. I didn’t realize until I arrived at Brittany’s parents just how much it had rained the previous night. As Jenn and I pulled up to the house we were greeted by men in waders, a whole lot of water and a large pumping truck. It had rained SO much the previous night that Brittany’s parents’ backyard, and neighbour’s backyard were completely flooded! OMG I know. BUT while Brittany was waking up to start the process of becoming the gorgeous Bride that she is, her family, friends and neighbours were scrambling to ALL pitch in and de-flood (if that’s a word) the backyard! They worked diligently right up until the Ceremony was to take place, they were amazing!

So to start off the day pretty much anything that could have gone wrong, went wrong……and we were met with the beautiful smiling face of Brittany upon our arrival! It didn’t matter what went wrong, a wedding was still going to happen, and we were prepared, rainboots and all! As the backyard became less swamp-like, a blue sky was on the horizon, and it was the perfect gift for Brittany & Jason! Soon enough the sun was beaming down, and a gorgeous day was upon us!

Brittany put on her rainboots and headed out back to have her ‘First Look’ with Jason, and it was such a great moment (squish-squish…..those are the sounds of her rainboots walking through the flooded yard….LOL)! Though the day had started out a little hairy, these two were so calm and relaxed with each other the entire day! We had SO much fun with them, and the good times continued late into the night! Jay’s Groom’s speech was hands down one of the most hilarious speeches I’ve ever heard!

Brittany & Jay thank you so much for having us share such an awesome day with you two, it couldn’t have been more perfect….all obstacles included!

So the original plan was to have seats for all guests during the ceremony. With the flooding that happened, chairs were not an option……but I love how intimate everything turned out. It was standing room only…..and everyone gathered around Brittany & Jason during the ceremony….it was beautiful!

It’s been a very busy season this year, and you’re probably wondering what I’ve been up to. I’m a little behind on my blogging so I thought I would share a little taste of just what I’ve been up to over the past few months There’s been a whole LOT of fantastic Weddings, and some really fun Engagement Sessions.

I’m pretty lucky to be able to work with such awesome couples, it’s been a really really fun past couple of months!! A whole lot of photo-shoots means a whole l-o-t of editing, and a whole lot of waiting for my couples. Tiffany + Brad | Ambassador Golf Club Wedding

Tiffany & Brad are so much fun to be around! They’re laid back, easy going, and totally smitten with each other. They try not to take life too seriously, and are always joking around….Tiff especially. Jenn and I had such a blast with them at their Engagement Session, where we were able to step foot into their new home, still under construction. It was such a fun night, so we knew we were in store for even more fun on their wedding day. We started out the day in Essex, these two were both relaxed and calm, and we weren’t surprised After an easy going morning we headed to Ambassador Golf Club for their Ceremony. Tiff and Brad were married surrounded by their closest family and friends, and a few onlookers too (the Canadian Tour Championship was on the same day of their wedding). They were both all smiles and eager to celebrate with everyone! After a quick Creative Session downtown we headed back to Ambassador to get the party started. It was a great night all around full of a lot of laughs, delectable food, and a whole lot of dancing!

Christina + Greg | Willistead Manor Wedding

Christina & Greg’s wedding was wedding number 2 of my 2 wedding weekend. Normally I only book 1 wedding per weekend, but when I met Christina & Greg I immediately was willing to make an exception because these two are just SO great!

Christina & Greg first met back in University, Greg was an athlete on the U of W track team, and these two met through a mutual friend. A big part of their relationship was slightly long distant, with Greg in Toronto and Christina here in Windsor. They spent their weekends travelling back and forth to visit each other by train. For their Engagement Session we knew that heading back to the train station would be the perfect setting. Be sure to check out their Engagement Session here.

Finally these two were together once again in the same city in Toronto (area), with plans to be married here in Windsor. After a lot of planning, their big day was finally here, and it was a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. Jenn and I headed to see Christina, and couldn’t wait to see everything come together! Christina looked stunning!! Her Vera Wang headpiece was absolutely perfect, as was the Vera Wang sash she wore with her dress. I knew that Greg would have to catch his breath when he laid eyes on her. And he did……his heart was “beating right out of his chest”.

They were married in a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by their closest family members and friends, in the gardens at Willistead Manor. It was the perfect setting! We spent some time inside and around Willistead Manor for their Creative Session, and then headed to their Reception at the St. Clair Center for the Arts. These two are such naturals! It could not have been a more perfect day. They are so in love and are such an absolute joy to be around. All day long we’d catch glimpses of Greg and how he looks at Christina with such adoration, and our hearts would just melt for these two.

After finishing up at Willistead Manor we headed to their Reception at the St. Clair Center for the Arts, but first we headed up to the terrace for a few more photographs. The sky was so blue, it was the perfect backdrop!
