Mariam & Kyle’s old-fashioned courtship!

A few weeks back Kelly and I had the pleasure of attending Mariam & Kyle’s fun-filled wedding shower in West Bloomfield Hills, MI at the absolutely gorgeous Shenandoah Country Club. The view and grounds were absolutely breathtaking!

The wedding shower was beautiful, complete with traditions, dancing, laughter and even a Henna Artist! After all of the festivities were over, the 4 of us took a walk around the gorgeous grounds and began our hour long old-fashioned styled photo session. These two are a lot of fun to be around, and have a great appreciation for all things stylish and vintage. Ok so maybe Mariam does a little more than Kyle (lol) but they were both open to our ideas and, we had a blast with them! Luckily the forecasted thunderstorms held off, and we were able to head out onto the greens for part of their session. We had such a great time together and I cannot wait to work with Mariam & Kyle again for their Engagement Session, and of course their wedding here in Windsor this upcoming November!

I am taking a quick break from my taxes to blog about the gorgeous album that just arrived yesterday! I get so excited when I see the UPS truck pull up, because I know the UPS man has something just for me that I can’t wait to open! Yesterday while sitting on the floor surrounded by a mound of receipts ( I leave my organizing to the last minute LOL) I heard the door bell ring, and the rumble of a truck outside, and it sure was the UPS man! I quickly and gently opened up the box that was so carefully and delicately wrapped, and fell in l-o-v-e with this newest little album. I immediately whipped out my camera for an impromptu product shoot. Feast your eyes on this beauty…..

Newest venture…..teaser

So I had the best day ever yesterday!!! I spent the day with Miss J. and Miss K. photographing these two gorgeous gals as apart of my latest photography venture. I am still giddy with how much fun we had, and how ‘girly’ of a day it was, with the girls playing dress-up and looking so fabulous. I have a TON of images to edit, but in the meantime I thought I’d just share this little teaser group photo that we did quickly at the end of our day long shoot.

The big unveiling is yet to come……

I apologize for the lack of posts right now, I have been incredibly busy meeting some great new couples for a whole new season of awesomely stylish weddings. This season is going to be fantastic I can feel it. It’s the middle of winter, and I can’t wait until the weather warms up for my first wedding! (LOL) But even before wedding season starts up again, I have a number of Trash the Dress sessions lined up with some fearless past brides, that I cannot wait for! One of them will even be in Toronto, I loooove shooting there! On another note I am about to be taking on 2 new ventures, 1 to be announced later this week, and another in a few more weeks. Stay tuned…….I’m so excited!!!

Windsor Wedding Shows a Hit!

A belated Happy New Year to everyone, I can’t believe this is my first post of 2010. The last 2 weekends have been incredibly busy, but also really fun! Two weekends ago was the Wedding Odyssey, and just this past weekend was the Wedding Extravaganza. My assistant Maciejka and one of my favourite past brides Kelly joined me both weekends, and we had a total blast! We met some really great couples both weekends, and I am excited to follow up with all of you who showed such great interest in my work, as well as in my booth! I also met some great vendors this weekend, and reconnected with some others, it was a great time all around. Here are a few quick pics to share with you from the Wedding Extravaganza!

Kelly and I made are way around the show to check out some of the new local vendors. We met the folks at Perfect Shutter Albert, Samson, John Kara, & Ashley, who had a photobooth onsite. They offer this service to couples for their weddings, totally cool! They also do some fantastic cinematography work so if you’re looking for a videographer for your wedding or a photobooth be sure to check them out here! It was great meeting you all, and special thanks to Albert for sending me this file to share with you, with a little editing of our ‘awkward pic’.

Upcoming Windsor Wedding Shows!

It’s almost that time of year again! January is almost here which means it’s time for a new wonderful season of weddings, and a new season of Wedding Shows. This year I will once again be taking part in both of the large local wedding shows. For those of you that might not remember last year’s booth here’s a quick pic taken from my iphone last year.

This year’s booth will have the same kind of living space feel, with a few updates and tweaks. I have some great new albums, a new logo to unveil, and of course some new work to share with you! For those of you getting married in 2010, I do still have a few open dates, to check out my calendar and see what’s available click here and check your date under ‘calendar’. The remaining 2010 dates will likely go very fast at the wedding shows, if not shortly afterwards, so please contact me ASAP. For those couples getting married in 2011, many of the key 2011 dates will also book up fairly quickly during the wedding shows, so please contact me as soon as you can! I look forward to seeing some familiar faces at the shows, and also meeting the new crop of Brides & Grooms. You will be able to book your wedding date with me at the shows, and also book consultation dates at the shows. I can promise you that I will be at both shows, both days as I do not have a wedding booked for either weekend as I did last year. Joining me will be my awesome assistant Maciejka, and my bravest past bride, and BLOG cover girl Mrs. Kelly Chauvin. Please be sure to stop by my booth and say hello! I will be showcasing in the main halls of both shows, so look for the ‘red velvet’ ! (LOL)

YEAR END FAVOURITES!

Before I share my Year End Favourites with you I just wanted to share a few things. The New Year is fast approaching, which means a new year of weddings, and meeting new potential clients seeking a wedding photographer. I will be taking part again in both of the local wedding shows in January 2010, and I will list the times and locations in another post. But first, wedding planning can be really overwhelming and hectic, and who you chose and trust to document your day for you is such an important decision. It is so important that you ‘click’ with your photographer, because in the end they are trying to portray the unique experience of your beautiful wedding day through their eyes as an artist, but it must also be a reflection of you as a couple. Locations play a big role in your day especially for your Formal photographs. Where you choose to be photographed should be a reflection of your style and interests together as a couple. Personal touches can add SO much to images like great shoes, meaningful props, accessories, etc. Your wedding photographs should tell the story of your day, so if you can incorporate little pieces of yourselves ie; your favourite shoes, a family heirloom, into your images they will be that much more meaningful and personal to you. In the end these are your memories, so make them the best they can be!

It’s hard to believe that 2009 is just about over. This year was such a great year for me, I met and worked with some absolutely incredible couples! Together we’ve created some truly beautiful and inspiring images! I thought I would take this time to thank each and every couple whose wedding I’ve photographed this year. I look forward to staying in touch with you all, and staying updated on your lives! I’ve also met some fabulous couples this year whose weddings I will be documenting in 2010, I am really looking forward to a new wedding season!
