Jess & Brandon’s summer love Engagement Session!

Jess & Brandon are such an awesome couple! They are funny, charming, stylish, adorable and totally in love! I first met them early last January when they chose me to be the lucky gal to photograph their upcoming wedding. They were quickly getting their important wedding day details together, because in just a few days they were off to California!!!! Yes Jess and Brandon were moving to California, and were going to be there up until their wedding….how exciting I know. (kinda jealous)

Jess and I kept in touch by email, and she let me know a few months ago that they would be making a trip to Windsor for some wedding related-errands, and we decided to sneak in an impromptu Engagement Session. You see Jess & Brandon are getting married in less than 2 weeks! I cannot believe how time has flown by since our very first meeting.

A few weeks back Kelly and I met up with Jess & Brandon for their Engagement Session, and we had soooo much fun! It’s funny how the four us have almost the same sense of humour, but it was a definite match, and a fun and hilarious shoot…LOL.

Stacey & Mike’s wickedly stylish Engagement Session!

Stacey & Mike are by far some of the most stylish people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and photographing. Their wardrobes are endless, and the two of them have a natural affinity for great style and fashion. From our very first meeting, I couldn’t help but notice and compliment their great style, and hearing all of the chic details of their wedding plans put a huge smile on my face, and made me even more excited to work with them. A few weeks back we headed around town and hit up a few different funky shooting locations. Their Engagement Session felt more like shooting scenes out of a movie, or straight off the catwalk, and I was loving every single second of it. Anytime I am able to incorporate great fashion and chic style into images, I am in my element.

Stacey and Mike were both such naturals, I could have photographed them all night, but eventually we ran out of light and had to wrap things up.

I cannot wait until their wedding this upcoming October, the details are to die for!

Julia & Derek’s vintage picnic Engagement Session!

Julia and I first met last October when she was standing in her sister Genevieve’s wedding, which I had the pleasure of photographing. I was so excited and surprised to receive an email from Julia not long after her sister’s wedding, only to find out that Derek had asked her to marry him!!! Julia is a doll, she and Derek are the perfect pairing! When she told me how much she loves flowers and that summer love kinda feel, I was all over that! Julia and I were so excited about their upcoming E-Session, but the weather didn’t seem to want to co-operate with us. So after a few reschedules, we finally had a dry evening, with a few slices of sunlight for our shoot! I drew upon my growing collection of vintage knick knacks and we headed off to a location with the closest thing to a field of wildflowers! Their session was totally styled, with that vintage-modern flair (my fave) and absolutely gorgeous. These two are such a joy to be around, and they were up for all the creative ideas I suggested, what a dream!

Julia and Derek will be getting married this October, and I cannot wait until the wedding! Here are a few (ok more than a few) favourites from their summer-love, vintage picnic Engagement Session!

Sarah & Mark’s colourful & candied Engagement Session!

I first met Sarah & Mark this past January, shortly after the wedding shows here in Windsor. They had just returned from living together in Florida for a while, during Mark’s studies in Florida, and they were looking to have me photograph their wedding this upcoming September. Sarah phone’s call to me was full of excitement and enthusiasm, and that just makes me even more excited about my clients. She told me how she and Mark had first met back when they were younger, while she was working at a candy store in Amherstburg. Mark used to come in all the time and buy these gummie frogs, but the funny thing was that he hates those gummie frogs, and was only actually going there to see Sarah all the time. (how adorable is that!) So of course we included some of those gummie frogs in their Engagement photographs…LOL. A few weeks back we headed out to Kingsville and Harrow for their Engagement Session. These two were all smiles, and always laughing with each other, and were just completely adorable. A special thanks to Sugar Candy Shop for letting us shoot inside their awesome store!

Heather & Brian’s super fun Carnival Engagement Session!

Well. What can I say. I love my clients and how much fun they are!! During our very first meeting last summer Heather & Brian flat out told me that they were up for anything. That was music to my ears. Their hilarious senses of humour kept me laughing all throughout our meeting, they really are perfect for each other. I was overcome with excitement at the thought of collaborating with them, and just being around them because they’re so much fun!

So of course I held them to their word of being up for anything…LOL. On the long weekend I met Heather & Brian at an East Windsor carnival and well we had a total blast!!!!…seriously. I mean we were at a carnival just doing a shoot while having fun at the carnival LOL. That just has the total makings for some pure awesomeness! Heather & Brian are so much fun! They were so natural, and needed little direction from me, which is such a joy when clients are so comfortable around me and my camera. It didn’t feel like a shoot, it just felt like a fun evening hanging out with old friends, and goofing around.

Special thanks to my great assistant Kelly for helping out, and to a few of those carnies, especially the older man who let us on a few rides for free.

Heather & Brian you rule! I can’t wait to have even more fun on your wedding day in October! Here are some favourites, ENJOY!

Erin & Mike’s London Engagement Session!

Last January I received a phone call from Erin who wanted to book me for her July 2010 wedding over the phone. Normally I meet with potential clients prior to their booking, but in this case Erin aka Eryn was 100% certain that she wanted to work with me. That is such a cool feeling when someone just loves your work so much that they want to book you on the spot! Erin and I share a little thing in common in that well we’re both named Erin, and we both like to spell our names differently, hence the ERYN Shea Photography thing. She and Mike currently live in London, a city that I spent 3 years in while going to College. Shooting an Engagement Session there was going to be a first for me and it was also going to be our first actual meeting! So 2 weeks ago I headed up to London for their e-session, it was cloudy all day long but luckily the rain held off, until my drive home of course LOL…. Erin and Mike had searched around for the perfect shooting locations, and they did a great job! We didn’t end up getting to all of them, but what we did get to use we made great work of!

Erin & Mike will be getting married here in Windsor on July 10th, which is so soon! Thanks so much you guys for being so adventurous, I had a blast! Here are some faves!

Normally I’m not a big fan of that hand colouring effect, but for some reason it really works for this image……..the song that Mike was singing to Erin while they were siting on this fallen down tree was…..’Hey Baby’ remember the scene from Dirty Dancing when Johnny and Baby were dancing on the log/fallen down tree??? LOL…too funny.

Erin and Mike brought along their adorable puppy Rowan for a few shots who was a little hyper at first, as all pups are, but eventually calmed down and worked the camera.

Christine & Nelson’s Windsor Engagement Session!

I met Christine this past winter, when she contacted me about possibly being her wedding photographer for her wedding in August. From our very first meeting I could see just how sweet of a couple she and Nelson were together, and that they were both very laid back and fun!

When Christine told me about how Nelson had proposed to her, I couldn’t help but laugh about how funny the story was, definitely a story that they will tell for years. Nelson proposed to Christine on the top of The Maverick (a roller coaster) at Cedar Point! The only thing was that Christine was so terrified of being on that roller coaster, that she didn’t even notice that Nelson was proposing….awwwwwww. Once she finally clued in to what was really going on, she said yes!! I thought we should incorporate that colourful and fun filled amusement park feel into some of their Engagement images, as well as Nelson’s other love, his guitar. Thankfully the rain held off, and we had a total blast together! Here are a few favourites from their session! Looking forward to their wedding this upcoming August!

Jenn & Marty’s Chicago Engagement Session!

One of the best parts of doing what I do for a living, is getting to witness a wonderful couple coming together, and being given the chance to join them along their journey to their big day. When it just so happens that I have some sort of connection to the couple, it makes the entire experience even more amazing!

Meet Jenn & Marty!

These two are both long time friends of my brother’s and when Jenn contacted me last summer about possibly being her photographer, I was so excited! We chatted over coffee, and by the end of the meeting I was so giddy with excitement to work with her! Her fiancee Marty is currently finishing his studies in Chicago, and their initial dream was to have their wedding in the city that they’ve come to love so much. Chicago is quite a distance, so instead they’ve opted to have their wedding in their hometown of Tecumseh/Windsor in July.

I couldn’t get my mind off of Chicago though, and I wanted Jenn & Marty to have their little piece of Chicago, since they weren’t able to have their wedding there. So come April we took a jaunt off to Chicago, and wow do I love that city!!! Even 3 days was not enough time to see everything. Jenn & Marty knew all the great places to go, and pretty much acted as our official tour guides. I had an absolute blast shooting these two, and literally could have just spent the entire weekend just following them around Chicago, with my camera in hand We had some of the most beautiful and warm Spring weather while we there, and holy cow were the tourists out in full force.

I am so happy to be sharing all of their gorgeous images with you. Editing them was a thrill, as I am in lo-v-e with every single image. It’s too hard to limit this post to just my favourites, so I will likely share more than usual. Jenn & Marty’s styles and personalities were very suited to a Chicago Engagement Session, the two of them fit in perfectly with that fresh, chic, modern city vibe! I am filled with excitement about their wedding this upcoming July here in Windsor, and I am so honoured to be able to be there to both witness and document the coming together of two charming, gorgeous, sweet and fun loving people!

You really can’t tell by these 2 images, but the streets were packed with people! We just happened to hit a lull….Just as I was about to start shooting, they turned the lights on at the Chicago Theatre!!! This made these 2 images!

Funny story….right as we were shooting here by the L train, some friendly police officers came by and were joking around with us. They wanted to see if we wanted them to handcuff Jenn & Marty and I could shoot them tussling with the officers. LOL……we said no and continued on

Jenn & Kamil’s Windsor Engagement Session!

I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done a REAL blogpost. Well I’m back!! So much has been going on lately, and I’m really excited to share it with you all over the next few weeks. Last year I met Jenn & Kamil through a past bride Lisa who had referred me, thanks again Lisa!! These two are soooo great! They’re so sweet around each other. They seem very connected, and it’s no nice to witness such a beautiful pairing. We decided to do their Engagement Session in the Winter, but getting a snowy setting was hit or miss in this area, so eventually we decided we’d opt for an indoor location. When I asked Jenn for a few location ideas where perhaps she and Kamil spend a lot of time, she gave me a few options to work with. The one thing that she did say to me that was so sweet was that it didn’t really matter where they go to together so much, because they really “just love being around each other” (awwwww!). We decided to start out downtown Windsor and hit up The Coffee Exchange, since Jenn & Kamil like to go for coffee together. Their new location is awesome, I have to admit that I haven’t actually been downtown in a while, at least not on a socializing basis, so I’m sure it’s been there for awhile, but it was all new to me. We then headed over to an awesome little pub called The Pour House, which is decorated fantastically on the inside. It’s a mix of modern decor with that classic pub feeling, and made for a great location for photographs. Plus Jenn & Kamil were able to enjoy a cocktail to calm any nerves they might have about being photographed. The staff at The Pour House were so accommodating, a big thanks goes out to them!! Here a are a few favourites from their Engagement Session. Jenn & Kamil thank you for being so open to getting a little creative, looking forward to the BIG DAY at the end of May!
